Small Business Recruiting · Nationwide

Recruiting built for small businesses hiring well the first time.

When you are small, a wrong hire hurts more and a slow one costs more. BizFirst gives you a senior Client Delivery Lead as your single point of contact, experienced recruiters running the hiring, and flat, predictable fees, not a junior coordinator and a big agency contract. We are based in Ashburn and focus on Northern Virginia and DC, and we recruit for small businesses nationwide.

Built for smaller teams

The senior attention big agencies save for big accounts

Larger firms load a recruiter with twenty or thirty clients and put the newest accounts last. BizFirst is boutique by design, so your Client Delivery Lead carries only three or four clients. For a founder or a small team doing the hiring yourself, that means senior help, fast answers, and hiring that actually moves.

One senior contact

You work with your Client Delivery Lead

Your senior Client Delivery Lead is your single point of contact, learns your business, keeps the hiring aligned to your priorities, and reviews every submission. Experienced recruiters handle the sourcing and screening.

Flat, predictable fees

Budget with confidence

Fill a single role on HireSelect at a flat $3,500, pay per hire with DirectHire, or add a flat monthly embedded recruiter with PartnerHire Core. Every option is transparent and flat, so a small team is not surprised by the bill.

Fast starts

First candidates in about 3 business days

On an embedded engagement, sourcing starts immediately and first qualified candidates typically arrive within about three business days. Momentum matters most when you are small.

Scales with you

Start with one role, grow into a function

Begin with a single hire, then add an embedded recruiter as hiring picks up. You add capacity when you need it and scale back when you do not.

What a first engagement looks like

Simple to start, easy to scale

Most small-business engagements begin with a short call about the roles, the bar, and the timeline. We recommend the model that fits, DirectHire for a one-off or occasional hire, or an embedded recruiter for steady hiring, and send a firm quote, usually within one business day. Then we start sourcing. Not sure which option fits? Compare flexible & fractional recruiting. Venture-backed and hiring fast? See Startup Recruiting.

Proof from a smaller engagement: for a mid-market SaaS client, BizFirst staffed a full customer success team, six hires in 60 days, on an embedded PartnerHire engagement. Small teams do not have to trade speed for senior attention.

Common questions

Recruiting for small teams, answered

Does BizFirst work with small businesses?

Yes. A large share of BizFirst clients are small businesses and growing teams that need to hire well but do not have a recruiting function yet. You work directly with a senior Client Delivery Lead who carries only three to four clients, so a small account still gets real attention.

How does pricing work for a small business?

Three flexible options. HireSelect fills a single role for a flat $3,500. DirectHire is contingent, billed only when we place someone, at 10 to 15 percent of first-year salary, which fits occasional hires. PartnerHire Core is a flat monthly embedded recruiter for steady, multi-role hiring. All are transparent and flat, so a small team can budget with confidence.

How fast can a small business get candidates?

On an embedded engagement, first qualified candidates typically arrive within about three business days. On a contingent DirectHire engagement, first submissions usually arrive within five to seven days.

Is BizFirst only for the DMV?

No. Northern Virginia and Washington, DC are a focus and BizFirst is based in Ashburn, VA, but the work is remote-friendly, so BizFirst recruits for small businesses nationwide.

Does BizFirst pricing only pay for a recruiter?

It depends on the option. HireSelect is our flat-fee, single-role recruiter-only service. DirectHire, our contingent model, includes a senior Client Delivery Lead who owns the hire per role. PartnerHire adds an embedded, ongoing Client Delivery Lead who manages a dedicated recruiter and quality-assures every submission. So a managed BizFirst fee is not simply the price of a recruiter.

Why can a low-cost recruiter appear cheaper than BizFirst?

Because the published price often represents only the recruiter. A managed BizFirst engagement also includes a senior Client Delivery Lead who owns delivery and reviews submissions. A lower invoice for a lone recruiter can carry a higher total cost once you account for the time you spend calibrating, supervising, and QA-ing that recruiter, plus poorly matched submissions and re-starts.

How should a small business compare recruiting providers?

Compare the total delivery model, not recruiter fees alone. Ask whether each option includes a recruiter, a senior Client Delivery Lead, independent candidate-submission QA, client-facing delivery management, recruiter oversight, and clear accountability. If those functions are not included, the services are not equivalent, and a lower price may reflect a narrower scope.

What you’re buying

A managed recruiting engagement, not recruiter hours

Your fee is recruiting execution plus a senior Client Delivery Lead who oversees the work and quality-assures every submission, not the price of a lone recruiter.

Your team Client Delivery Lead — strategy, oversight, QA Recruiter — sourcing, screening QA-reviewed submissions to you

Included in PartnerHire Core & Complete. DirectHire includes a per-role Client Delivery Lead. Only HireSelect, our flat-fee single-role option, is recruiter-only.
